EFFECTIVE CLEAR WIDTH CALCULATOR
The clear opening width is measured at right angles to the wall where the door is located, extending from the outer edge of the door stop on the closing side to any obstruction on the hinge side, including projecting door opening hardware, weatherboards, and the door stop itself (see diagram).
